Everything you need to know about Lumina. Can't find what you're looking for? Contact our team.
Getting started is simple. Once you choose whether you're a sole practice or part of an organisation, we'll set up your account and configure everything you need. Your practice infrastructure, user accounts, and apps are all ready to go within minutes.
The Starter Practice plan includes up to 200 active patients, up to 50 new patients per calendar month, up to 2 clinicians, 5 additional team users, 5GB storage, Basic Admin Analytics, AI features with a daily usage allowance, all 3 apps (Core, Admin & Portal), and a full export of your data provided on request. You get one practice, free for as long as you're on Starter.
Starter Practice is free and perfect for small practices getting started. Growing Practice (from £249/month per practice when billed annually) removes limits, adds multi-location management, Advanced Admin Analytics, and generous AI usage. Enterprise (from £499/month per practice) adds cross-practice central reporting, custom SSO, dedicated infrastructure, a dedicated account manager, and custom SLAs.
An Active Patient is any patient who has had an appointment within the last 18 months, has a future appointment booked, has an outstanding balance, or has an active treatment plan. Archived patients do not count toward your limit.
Lumina includes all three surfaces (clinical, admin, and patient portal) in every plan, with no per-surgery charges. Many platforms charge extra for additional surgeries, bolt-on portals, or supplementary modules. With Lumina, you get the full platform from day one, including a free tier to get started.
Lumina includes built-in tools that help generate clinical notes and patient-friendly summaries from examination data. Every generated note is reviewed and approved by the clinician before it becomes part of the patient record.
Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and hosted in the UK (AWS eu-west-2, London). Lumina is built and operated in line with UK GDPR requirements. Payment processing (Stripe) may involve limited processing outside the UK under UK GDPR safeguards; see our Sub-processor Schedule. Each organisation's data is logically separated, with strict tenant-scoped access controls. Enterprise customers can request dedicated infrastructure. Learn more at luminadental.co.uk/security.
Yes. We start with a free migration assessment: we analyse an export of your current system's data and give you a written plan covering what moves, what doesn't, timings and cost. Nothing changes in your practice until you have seen the plan and agreed it.
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time with no cancellation fee, effective at the end of the current billing month. Annual plans are a 12-month commitment; you can stop renewal at any time, but there's no refund for the unused part of the term. After cancellation, you can access your data read-only for 90 days, per our Terms of Service. A full export of your data is provided on request, at any time during your subscription or that read-only period.
Every plan includes email support while you get set up. Starter Practice has a 48-hour response target during business hours, Growing Practice gets same-day responses during business hours, and Enterprise customers have a dedicated account manager. If you are moving from another system, the migration assessment is free and comes with a written plan before anything changes in your practice.
Starter Practice includes email support with response within 48 hours. Growing Practice includes priority support with same-day response during business hours. Enterprise customers receive priority support with a dedicated account manager, and can agree a custom SLA with binding response commitments under a separate written agreement.
